East Belfast
East Belfast Besom started in September 2004 serving the East Belfast
inner city and even, on a few occasions, beyond.
What we do
We accept clothes, toys, furniture, kitchen equipment and other
household items and these are given to needy families and individuals,
usually in response to requests from Social Services, Simon Community,
etc. Time-givers come together in our warehouse on Tuesday afternoons
to sort, iron and pray. We also have a group of helpers that wash,
iron and mend clothes at home.
We get involved in cleaning, decorating and gardening too.
Home Groups from churches also get involved in
decorating, cleaning and gardening for the elderly, disabled and
single parent families. Homes and gardens have been transformed in a
day, making a tangible difference to the quality of people's lives.
We have a steadily growing army of time-givers and are seeing God move
and soften peoples’ hearts to the plight of the poor.
